YORKSHIRE BULLDOG CLUB  Open Show 6TH JUNE 2008

Photos of the day and winner ,critique below

Thank you to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge this show, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. Thank you to all exhibitors for attending and it was a pleasure to find some very nice , well presented bulldogs, notably tails are certainly straighter in number and most were loose , there were no dogs showing signs of breathing difficulties on a very warm day and my only overall criticism would be that one or two just need to find the strong tacked on shoulders typical of the bulldog.

MPD. ( 5 ) . 1ST Bellerbys Jaybelabee Armstrong.  F/w 7mth ,youngster showing lots  of potential taking a very good class . Strong head qualities, length and width of skull , lots of substance and strode out with a certain confidence. Should go on to hold his own. 2nd/ Morgan-Stanley’s Goldbourne its Taboo r/w 7mth another strong puppy with plenty to like, larger than 1 but all in proportion, plenty substance, nice expression , moved freely.

PD.(8,6) 1st/ Lockett’s Mickangie Red Renegade r/w 12mth standard dog well made, lovely shape, good head qualities , dark eye, width of jaw all coming together in a typical expression. Moved with drive and good roll .presented well . 2nd/ Crellins Sealaville he’s Ringo at Lylotti f/w , liked this boy a lot, lovely head , good shoulders, bone and ample rib just needs to settle in the ring, did’nt show himself at his best.

JD(5,2). 1ST/ Brackens Bradiebe Imallwhite, white strong junior, another well made and excellent shape of bulldog, all the right angles, good head with nice ear placement, width and upsweep of jaw, substance all through, muscular and powerful on the move, showed very well.

2nd/ Davis’s Sanbull Mexican Sunset at Kismond r/w lovely sour expression, wide jaw , dark eye, square front with strong frame, nice pear shape, top condition and handled beautifully.

ND. (3, 1). 1st/Powell/Smith’s William Wallis Ochils Boy. R/w full size, presents a nice picture front view, pleasing head and expression, lots of bone , well ribbed and good shaped hindquarters, moved freely ,just lacking muscle tone to finish the picture.

2nd/ Rudge’s Taffbullola  Young Radical, f/w still a baby compared to one, needs maturity to compete against older dogs but at this age still has potential, nice expression  and has frame to develop. Moved confidently.

GD. (5,3) . 1st/ William’s Leicity Leslie William at Willsmere. R/w striking dog, liked this boy a lot, well made, excellent shoulders giving a strong front, lovely head, good reach of neck, lots of rib and overall shape shone through on move, very disappointed not to see him in line up.

2nd.Bellerby’s Jaybelabee Lightening another dog I really liked, nice head and expression, lovely dark eye, well laid back, a well proportioned dog ,lots of strong points but again felt maybe lacks a bit of maturity , one to watch out for, moves well.
